Well done Team NYP!

NUS Invitationals ended in a flash. Well done to all competitors and thank you for all those who went down all the way to NUS to support us!

Firstly, kudos to Team NYP and congratulations to Melissa for getting a Sliver for 200m obstacles! Okay everyone sort of expected it already. But nevertheless, congrats Choo! Nevermind the results, as long as you did your best, you shouldn't be sad. Once again, well done to those who broke their personal bests and did their very best! Cheers :D

Secondly...
In case you people didn't notice, Nationals Open Water falls on the first of August, Sat. So do your maths and you'll see that we're only a month away from it and it also means that we only had 4 sessions of beach trainings left. We stopped beach trainings for about 1 to 2 months already so now please people, train hard for the trials&finals!

Thirdly,
Training is cancelled for one whole week starting tomorrow. Cause Ivan said school is closed and lessons stopped for a week thus training should stopped too. Super tight schedule already still come up with so many stunts super lame I know. So official pool trainings will resume next Wednesday, 1st July. And we will begin training for Nationals Still Water, 16th August.

Training wise, we have some slight changes to things, every wednesday is water-based training which means swim+events while every friday would be land training. So just like last time, please bring your shoes along on Friday but don't forget your swim gears. Lifeguards do swim training after land training! No slacking! (Seniors should know this).

Oh yes, due to very very bad luck this year. All are recommended to go pray to whatever god you're praying now for a change of luck. Eat well, Sleep good and stay safe!
Cheers and train hard people!

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY :)

Hello Lifeguards of NYP, it's me again. We received some bad news so now we're on HIGH RISK! Here's something which I find interesting and obviously it would be a big help to you, ALL OF YOU! H1N1 杀到我们家来了!!!

Influenza A (H1N1):

Just like the seasonal flu, Influenza A (H1N1) infection can vary in severity from mild to severe. Signs and symptoms of infection may include the following:

• High fever
• Cough
• Muscle pains
• Sore throat
• Fatigue or tiredness
• Headache
• Nausea
• Vomiting or diarrhoea

See a doctor if you have any of the above symptoms. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience the following warning signs:

  • • Breathing difficulty
  • • Confusion
  • • Persistent vomiting
  • • Sudden dizziness
  • • Complications

Influenza A (H1N1) infection can be serious and life threatening. Deaths from pneumonia and respiratory failure have been reported with the flu infection.

Ways to protect yourself! :D

One of the ways to protect against Influenza A (H1N1) is to prevent its spread. Since the illness occurs through direct contact with infectious material and respiratory secretions, it is important to practise good personal hygiene. Take these everyday steps to protect your health:

  1. Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly
  2. Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze
  3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands
  4. If you are sick, avoid crowded areas and wear a surgical mask. Stay at home and do not go to work or school
  5. Seek treatment early if you have flu-like symptoms and if you had recently travelled to areas with cases of Influenza A (H1N1) infection
ps. any queries about medical terms, ask! You got tonnes of teammates from School of Health Sciences (SHS).

So now, we've been so called expose of whatever shit. Trainign at RP last Friday, some joker went to Butter Factory on Wed & came training and we'll be having a competition at NUS this Sat. So it's still best to keep ourselves in tip top condition for whatever that is coming, we don't want to be the first CCA to be suspended due to this pandemic. Relax and chill.

REST MORE & DRINK LOADS OF PLAIN WATER! GOODLUCK FOR COMPETITION PEOPLE! WE CAN DO IT!

南洋理工救生队 :D

Thanks all.

LG Overseas trip. :D

Hello people out there who still faithfully visits this blog of ours.

We are planning on a overseas trip during the long term break (Sept-Oct)! Plan was Genting Highlands but it's kinda boring so we changed it to islands instead.

A poll has been set up over >>> so please vote. And please hor, don't anyhow play if you're not intending to come. But nvm, we'll be doing another round of voting when everyone agrees on it. This is just for fun lol. But still take it seriously to make this trip a success. Poll ends 01/07/09 @ 12am!

Expenses for the trip is NOT sponsored/half-sponsored/sponsored at all. Everything comes from your own pocket. Anything to do with money, need to depend on yourself okay? lol. Those which need flight cost more (like duh -.-). Ferries trip cost less. Prices depending on accommodations too. So please think properly. Most likely will be team bonding alot alot and snorkling, diving if got alot of $$$$$. All support okay! We want somewhere got sand and water one. (clear sea water hor! If not sentosa also can!) So if you're interested, save up now! You're left with 2 mths. And no matter where we're going, just save as much as possible yeah? More $$$$ = more FUNFUNFUN!

TAG IF INTERESTED! AND IF GOT SUGGESTIONS, TAG! WILL UPDATE MORE ON A LATER DATE.

Thankzzzxzxzxxzz!
